Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Miller and Seeber
The Agenda, as proposed, was approved.
Discussion was heard on authorizing the Clerk/Auditor ' s office to
proceed with the joint office supply bidding with Black Hawk
County, Cedar Falls and Evansdale. Bruce Meisinger, Purchasing
Agent, provided the details to the committee on said bidding
procedure. It was explained that the internal methods of office
supply delivery will not change for the City. The main advantage
will be that the City will have an opportunity to solicit bids
from area suppliers at a reduced cost. Councilperson Seeber
thanked the Clerk' s office for their participation in this joint
venture. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that
authorization be given to proceed with the joint office supply
bidding as described above. Motion carried.
The following quotes for two portable dictation machines and one
transcriber were reviewed for the Personnel office:

Lanier $1 , 098 . 76
Dictaphone $1, 049 . 20
It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that authorization be
given to the Personnel Department to purchase one portable unit
and one transcriber at this time and a report be made in three to
four months as to if another portable unit is necessary. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Dowie, seconded by Miller, that bills payment be
approved as contained in the A900, pp. 1-31 , totalling
$257 , 443 . 91 , dated June 1, 1987 , and A900 , pp. 1-54 , totalling
$631 , 000 . 85 , dated June 8 , 1987. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
