Finance Committee Minutes
December 9, 1985
6:30 p.m.
Mayor's Conference Roam
Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Klinger and Getty.
The agenda was approved as proposed. Motion carried.
The first item of discussion was the request of the Police Chief to
provide 5 days of Management Training for 15 managerial and
administrative personnel at a cost of $4,875.00. The training would
be provided through the University of Northern Iowa. He stated that
the department feels that such education is essential for their
managers to manage employees effectively in difficult economic times.
Funds for this training are available in the current departmental
budget. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the request
as proposed be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the bills be
recommended to the City Council for approval and that the garbage
refunds for properties at 415 - 415 1/2 Bayard Street, Dettmer
Industries, Inc. , 824 Columbia Street, 520 Locust, 214 Commercial,
101 Reed Street, 720 W. Park Avenue, and 1245 Prospect Blvd., be
approved. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
