Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Klinger, Getty.
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the agenda be
approved, as proposed. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for auctioneers for the City Auction
to be held on Friday, September 29, 1985:

Dick Backes Auctioneer 1-1/2% of total gross
sales
Dyers Reiners Auction Sales $502.00
Conrad Dohn Auction Company 3% of total gross sales
Hal Hanna $249.00
Marvin and Jeffrey Craft 1 .7% of gross sales and
$400.00
Fisher Consignment Auction 4-1/2% of total gross
sales
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the low bid of Dick
Backes Auctioneer be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the City Engineer be
authorized to solicit bids for modification of the median at the
intersection of San Marnan Drive and LaPorte Road, at an estimated
cost of $8,400.00. Motion carried.
The request of the Clerk/Auditor to establish the minimum income
requirements for persons eligible for garbage exemption for calendar
year 1986 was reviewed. For the past three (3) calendar years, the
income level has been $7,000.00/household. It was moved by Getty,
seconded by Klinger that the minimum income requirement be set at
$7,000 for calendar year 1986. Motion carried.
W. David Tyler, City Attorney, briefly explained the cost implication
of the enforcement of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), resulting
from the Supreme Court decision entitled Garcia vs. City of San
Antonio, Texas.
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie that the garbage refund
for 205 Walnut Street in the amount of $47.20 be approved. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the bills for payment
be recommended to the City Council for approval. Motion carried.
The request of the Electrical Department to take bids on 1-5 Section
12" traffic signal head and background shield at an approximate cost
of $460.00 and a contractor to push approximately 76 ft. of pipe at
$9.00/ft. for the installation of a left turn,
east/bound-north/bound, at the intersection of San Marnan Drive and
Laporte Road was reviewed. It was moved by Getty, seconded by
Klinger that this request be approved. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
