It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the Agenda as proposed be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie that authorization be given to the Street and Sewer Departments to take bids on warning lights. Motion carried. The second item of discussion was the purchase of a used low boy for hauling the new vibratory roller for the Street Department. Don Thorson, Street Superintendent, indicated that proposals had been sought from Herman M. Brown Company, Swaney Equipment, Graham Equipment, Altorfer Equipment, John G. Miller Construction, Jens Oleson Construction, and Dale Clark Contracting. Another vendor will be contacted on Tuesday, August 13, 1985. Formal bids were not taken for this item, however, City Attorney Tyler indicated that in the future, specifications should be drawn and formal bids requested. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that authorization be given to the purchase from the lowest bidder. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty, that authorization be given to pay for the emergency repair at the intersection of Dane and Highway 63. (A pipe needed to be pushed under this intersection at an approximate cost of $6.00 per sq. ft. for 123 feet which totals $738.00.) Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that bills for payment be recommended to the City Council for approval. Motion carried. With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
