Finance Committee Minutes
July 8, 1985
6:30 p.m.
Mayor's Conference Room
Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Klinger, Getty.
The agenda was approved as proposed.
The following bids were reviewed on the asphalt emulsion for
recycling asphalt paving mix:
Bidder Bid Amount
Koch Asphalt Company, Dubuque, Iowa $37,559.29
Bitucote Products Co. , Des Moines, Ia. $57,040.00
It was the recommendation of the City Engineer's Office to accept the
low bid of Koch in the above amount. It was moved by Getty, seconded
by Klinger that this recommendation be approved. Motion carried.
The request of the Police Department to seek bids for resealing of
the roof at the Police Training Center was reviewed. Assistant
Police Chief Larry Dolan explained that this is a budgeted item in
the F.Y. 1986 Budget and that the work should be completed prior
to the winter season so that damage to the building is minimized. It
was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that authorization to seek
bids be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that the garbage refund for
a vacant property located at 832 W. 2nd Street in the amount of
$71 .10 be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the bills for payment
be recommended to the City Council for approval. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
