Finance Committee Meeting
June 3, 1985
Mayor's Conference Room

Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Klinger, Getty
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the Agenda be
approved as proposed. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for a dump truck for the Street
Department:
Bidder Bid Amount
Crossroads Ford $35,741 .67
Donovan Int'l $35,490.00
It was the recommendation of the Street Department to accept the low
bid of Donovan Int'1 and to include the alternate of
operating panels daily maintenance bid in the amount of $274.00.
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the recommendation of
the Street Department be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for the F.Y. 1985 Concrete
Replacement Project:
Bidder Bid Amount
Cedar Falls Construction $8,688.75
Cedar Valley Corporation $9,197.17
Concrete Foundations $9,230.36
Tom Dolan $9,089.95
Rampart Corporation $9,446.14
Youngblut Construction $9,998.00
It was the recommendation of the City Engineer's Office to accept the
low bid of Cedar Falls Construction in the amount of $8,688.75. It
was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that this recommendation be
approved. Motion carried.
Police Chief Roger Shook explained his department's request to hire
Charles Yeschke Associates of Minneapolis to conduct a two (2) day
forensic interviewing and interrogation seminar for 30 personnel.
Total cost of this training is $1 ,650.00. He stated that money is
available in the F.Y. 1985 Police Department Budget. It was moved by
Getty, seconded by Dowie that authorization be given to hiring
Charles Yeschke Associates for above described training. Motion
carried.
The following quotes were reviewed for a concrete saw for the Street
Department:
Bidder Bid Amount
Gierke Robinson Company $8,525.00
Cohen Brothers $8,667.00
Eddy-Walker Company $7,929.00
It was the recommendation of the Street Department to accept the bid
of Eddy-Walker in the amount of $7,929.00. There is no trade-in
value on the old saw. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty
that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that bills for payment be
recommended to the City Council for payment. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee the meeting was
adjourned.
