It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie that the Agenda, as amended, be approved. Motion carried. The request of the Waterloo Police Department to provide Stress Management Trainingto all officers, conducted by Dr. Todd F. Hines, Des Moines, Iowa was reviewed. The proposed cost is $1 ,500.00. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie to authorize said expenditure. Motion carried. In response to a question from Councilmember Klinger, Roger Mogle, Personnel Director, reported that Tim Shields, University of Iowa, has been contacted regarding training for other City Management personnel. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie that authorization be given to the Health and Sanitation Department for solicitation of bids for mosquito control chemicals. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that authorization be given for purchase of an impact wrench/chisel for the Electrical Department. Motion carried. Larry P. Burger, Clerk/Auditor reported that a window in the City Engineer's Office had shattered due to high winds. The carpet in the office sustained water damage and contains splinters of glass. Due to these factors and age, authorization was requested for new carpet. Bob Brooks, Park Director, requested authorization to measure carpet for the Park Department Office. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that authorization be given to the City Engineer for bid solicitation, as requested. Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that all requisitions and pay authorizations exceeding $300 be recommended to the Council for approval. Motion carried.
