Mayor's Conference Room
Members present; Chairperson Dowie, Miller. Members absent:
Seeber. Also present: Angel .
The Chair announced that an additional item would be considered at
the meeting. This item was recommendation on bids received for a
programmable transceiver unit for the Police Department . It was
moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the Agenda, as amended, be
approved. Motion carried.
The following bid was reviewed for a 25" color television receiver
for the Police Department: Don 's TV & Appliance, total bid--$489.
It was the recommendation to accept this hid as it met all
specifications and the price is competitive. It was moved by Miller,
seconded by Dowie to accept said recommendation. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for one video recording unit for the
Police Department: Don's TV & Appliance, total hid--$542 (Sylvania
Model VC-3146); Triangle Audio Visual, total bid--$465 (Panasonic
Model AG-1200).
It was the recommendation of the Police Department to accept the hid
from Don 's TV & Appliance as this bid was from a local dealer and had
superior qualifications. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie
that the recommendation be approved. Motion carried. Chairperson
Dowie commended the Chief for purchasing from a local dealer.
The following hid was reviewed for one jail mugshot camera: Sioux
Sales Company, total hid--$520 (Sirchie, Model 825P10). It was the
recommendation of the Police Department to accept the bid from Sioux
Sales Company. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie to accept
this recommendation. Motion carried.
It was moved by Dowie, seconded by Miller that the Electrical
Department be given authorization to seek bids on approximately 5,000
traffic signal lamps. Motion carried.
It was moved by Dowie, seconded by Miller that the garbage refund for
230 Reber Avenue in the amount of $69.60 be approved. Motion
carried.
The following bids were reviewed for spitter tickets for the Motor
Vehicle Parking Facility Ramp: Globe Ticket Company, total
bid--$296.35 (delivered) ; Toledo Ticket Company, total bid--$270 (FOB
Toledo, Ohio) . It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of
Motor Vehicle Parking to accept the bid of Globe Ticket Company. It
was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that this recommendation be
approved. Motion carried.
The following bid was reviewed for a programmable transceiver unit
for the Police Department: Radio Communications Company, Inc. , total
bid--$1,134 (ten channel VHF) .
It was the recommendation of the Police Department to accept the
above bid. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the above
recommendation be approved. Motion carried.
No action was taken on the bills for payment as the full Council had
reviewed and considered the bill payments at their regularly
scheduled meeting of March 24, 1986 (see Resolution No. 1986-170) .
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
