HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/17/1986 FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES February 17, 1986 6:30 p.m. Large Conference Room Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Seeber and Miller. It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that the agenda, as proposed, be approved. Motion carried. Larry P. Burger, Clerk/Auditor, reported that the Building and Grounds Committee had recommended to the Finance Committee the expenditure of $3,500 for an enhancement software program for the present Telecommunication System within City Hall , Rec Center, and Library. The purchase would be from Teleconnect. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that this expediture be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the Police Chief be authorized to take bids for the purchase of a video recorder and television receiver for the Police Training Center; authorization to purchase two CRTs at a cost of $1,800 for placement in the Crime Analysis Section and Identification Section of the Police Department: and authorization to seek bids for the purchase of a mug camera to be used in the jail . Motion carried. The request of the Police Department to re-allocate $7,400 from the line item 1579, Wearing Apparel , to category 1529, Firearms, Accessories, and Related Supplies, for first year funding of a three year handgun replacement program was discussed. Bruce Meisinger, Budget Analyst, stated that the policy of the City has been that a department should not exceed its bottom line total budget appropriation and that expenditures do not exceed revenues. In the case of the Police Department, both tests have been met. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that authorization as requested be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that the bills for payment be recommended to the Council for approval . Motion carried.
