Members Present: Chairperson Dowie, Miller and Seeber. The Finance Committee
was called to order by Chairperson Dowie. It was moved by Miller, seconded by
Seeber that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Motion carried .
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that the recommendation from the
Building & Grounds/Public Safety Committees to authorize necessary building
improvements and exhaust system repairs to resume the suspended chemical testing
in the Police Department Lab in the amount of $23,136.00 be approved . Motion
carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that authorization be given to the
City Engineer to seek bids on a blue print machine. Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that authorization be given to the
Garage Superintendent to seek bids in replacing two (2) overhead doors at the
Street Department building at 1601 Black Hawk Street. Motion carried.
It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that the recommendation from the
Public Safety/Building & Grounds Committees to authorize the Fire Chief to
purchase an IBM, PC-AT and HAZMET software for storage of hazardous material
information be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for the purchase of two (2) used vehicles from
Crossroads Ford for the Water Pollution Control Plant:
1973 aluminum body step van $2,000.00
1977 Chevrolet C-20 pick-up $2,000.00
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that authorization be given to the
Superintendent of the Water Pollution Control Plant to purchase said vehicles.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that authorization be given to the
Water Pollution Control Superintendent to complete the lease purchase of a Savin
870 copier originally leased by the Engineering Department at a cost of $429.50
plus an annual maintenance contract of $335.00. Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that the minimum income requirements
for persons eligible for exemption from garbage fees be established as $7,000.00
for calendar year 1987. Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that a recommendation for approval be
forwarded to the City Council for bills for payments contained in Schedule A900,
dated October 13, 1986, pp. 1-47, in the total amount of $2,090,470.27. Motion
carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
