Roll Call : Chairperson Dowie and Seeber.
The Agenda, as proposed, was approved.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Dowie that the Medical Supervisor in the Fire
Department be given authorization to seek bids for medical supplies for ambulance
service. Motion carried.
Miller low present.
The request of the City Engineer to pay Black Hawk Plumbing in the amount of
$1,001.10 for repair to a 6" Sanitary Sewer Service at 209 North Hackett Road was
discussed. City Engineer, Eric Thorson, indicated that this address had been
experiencing problems with their sanitary sewer and had contacted Black Hawk Plumbing
for repair. When the sewer was exposed, it was found that the storm sewer had been
placed across the sanitary line and had cut off the flow through the sanitary line.
This storm sewer was constructed under a City contract in 1979 and that since the
problem was caused by work done under City contract, he recommended that the City pay
to correct this problem. It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that this
recommendation be approved and that payment be made for said bill . Motion carried.
It was moved by Dowie, seconded by Seeber that authorization be given to the Police
Department to seek bids on building improvements to resume the suspended chemical
testing with a joint meeting of the Public Safety, Building & Grounds, and Finance
Committee to be held after bids are received and prior to awarding. Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that garbage refunds for 215 Franklin
Street in the amount of $53.94, 407 Reed Street in the amount of $52.20, and
421 Almond Street in the amount of $70.47 be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that the A900 from July 25, 1986 to
July 31, 1986, including pp. 1-18 be recommended to the Council for approval . Motion
carried.
With no further business before the Finance Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
