HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/19/1986 FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES May 19, 1986 6: 30 p.m. Large Conference Room Members present: Chairperson Dowie, Miller and Seeber. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that the Agenda be amended to include Item No. 2 under New Business: Authorization to purchase a riding lawn mower--Water Pollution Control Plant. Motion carried. It was reported that the Building and Grounds Committee had recommended to the Finance Committee to authorize the Street Department to seek bids on paint for the exterior of their building at 1601 Black Hawk Street. It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that said authorization be approved. Motion carried. Bruce Bottorff, Superintendent of the Water Pollution Control Plant, stated that quotations had been received from Turf 'N Trail , Seegmiller's and The Sled Shed for a riding lawn mower. It was Mr. Bottorff's recommendation to accept the low bid of a Snapper mower from The Sled Shed in the amount of $1,347. It was indicated that this is a budgeted item. It was moved by Seeber, seconded by Miller that this recommendation be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that the bills for payment be recommended to the Council for approval . Motion carried. Carol Ennenga appeared before the Finance Committee requesting a garbage refund for property at 608 Power Street. She stated that the City has not picked up garbage at this site, and she has inadvertently paid $52.20 for this service. She requested a refund in this amount. It was moved by Miller, seconded by Seeber that this item be referred to the Clerk/Auditor's Office for review and recommendation. Motion carried.
