HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/24/1984 FINANCE COMMITTEE September 24, 1984 6:30 p.m. Mayor's Conference Room Members Present: Dowie, Klinger, Getty The following bids were reviewed for the F.Y. 1985 Linseed Oiling Program: Bidder Amount Cedar Valley Corp. $16,594.74 Waterloo Construction Company $15,058.19 The City Engineer's Office recommended that the low bid for Waterloo Construction Company be approved. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the above recommendation be approved. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for auctioneers for the City/County Auction scheduled for October 6, 1984: Bidder Amount G & H Auction 1% of sales Floyd Rider 5% of sales Lester Schares 5% of sales Councilman Getty asked what arrangements had been made for a speaker system at the auction. Larry P. Burger, City Clerk/Auditor, reported that the specifications required that the Auctioneer provide a sound system. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the recommendation of the Clerk/Auditor to accept the low bid of G & H Auction be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Dowie to approve the following garbage refunds: Amount of Refund 1 . Balko's Furniture $4.73 325 E. Park 2. Sunnyside Temple $55.58 3520 Ansborough Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger to authorize the Fire DeparLnient to take bids on a 1985 Pick-up Truck. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty to authorize the following requisitions and recommend approval of the bills contained in Resolution No. 1984-453, approved by the City Council on September 24, 1984: Sewer Department Semler Industries Inc. $5,799.00 WPCP Brownstone System $ 509.00 Motion carried. Councilperson Getty asked what progress had been made in rectifying the billing procedure for garbage and sewer accounts. Larry P. Burger, City Clerk/Auditor reported that the integration of the Water Works files and City Assessor's files must be completed prior to elimination of billing difficulties.
