HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/27/1984 FINANCE COMMITTEE August 27, 1984 4:30 p.m. Mayor's Conference Room Manbers present: Chairman Dowie, Klinger and Getty Charles Marbles, Purchasing Agent, reported that bids had been solicited for demolition of the City-owned building on Huron Street. No bids were received. A recommendation from the Building and Grounds Committee will be forthcoming on said structure. The following bids were reviewed for chairs for the Police Department: Retail State 7 - 421-212 $2,793.00 $1,533.00 17 - 451-310 6,392.00 3,519.00 $9,185.00 $5,052.00 Discussion was heard on whether State bids should be given preference aver local vendors. Chairperson Dowie stated that since local persons pay property taxes, the City should afford than their business. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that local bids be solicited. This motion was withdrawn. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that action on this item be tabled until September 4, 1984. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the following garbage refunds be approved and warrants issued accordingly: Address Amount of Refund 420 Dunham $14.18 745 Lynkaylee $40.50 739 Dawson $27.00 Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the Police Department be authorized to take bids on four (4) shotguns. Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the following requisition be approved; as well as a recommendation of approval forwarded to the City Council on the bills contained in Resolution Number 1984-408 as approved by the Council on 8/27/84: WPCP 17521 Valcom Computer Center $900.00 Motion carried.
