Member absent: Klinger.
The first item regarding City purchasing procedures was moved to
the end of the Agenda.
The following bids were reviewed for the F.Y. 1985
Superstructure for Sewer Department Building at Water Pollution
Control Plant:

It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie to approve the low bid
of Don Gardner Construction Company.
Motion carried.
Bids from Young Plumbing and Heating and J & L Electric were
reviewed for conversion from electric to gas for Ridgeway Towers, 225
West Ridgeway Avenue. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that
the base bid of Young Plumbing and Heating Company in the amount of
$167,000, including Alternate No. 3, be recommended to the City
Council for approval .
Motion carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that authorization be
given to repair the roof of the Street Department on Black Hawk
Street in the amount of $987.25.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that the following
garbage refunds be approved:

Discussion was heard on the purchase of an IBM Personal Computer
XT from Valcom Computer Center in the amount of $4,057.48 for the
Water Pollution Control Plant. Chairperson Dowie asked that action
be delayed for two (2) weeks to allow study into how this equipment
would fit into the overall City plan for computerization.
It was moved by Getty, seconded by Dowie that bills contained in
Resolution No. 1984-344 adopted by the City Council on July 23, 1984
be recommended for approval .
Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned.
