It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the agenda be amended to include under New Business the item of a purchase of a boat for the Fire Department . Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for Barricade rental : Bidder Amount Best Rental $ . 24 Falls Ave. Rental $ . 45 Warning Lites of Iowa Late Bid Black Hawk Rental No Bid It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the low bid of Best Rental for a one (1) year agreement be approved and that the late bid of Warning Lites of Iowa be returned to the bidder unopened. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for a Type III modular ambulance : Bidder Amount Emergency Vehicle Sales and Services $40 , 000 . 00 Foster Coach Sales Inc. $41, 017 . 00 Smeal Fire Equipment Co . $42 ,870. 00 It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the recommendation of the Fire Department to accept the low bid of Emergency Vehicle Sales and Service be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the following Garbage Refunds be approved: Address Amount of Refund 1409 Commercial $ 9 . 00 411 East 8th $27 . 00 116 South Hackett Road $14. 18 1216 Evergreen $13 . 50 1100 Upton $27 . 68 Motion carried. It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the Street Department be authorized to rent a back-hoe for repair of expansion joints at a cost of $1, 500 per month. Motion carried. Finance Committee Page 2 Larry Thompson, President of Police Protective Association, requested that the FY 1985 Cleaning Allowance for each officer be issued at the cotluilencement of the contract (July 1, 1984) . Dave Tyler, City Attorney, reported that the first bill payment would occur on July 23 , 1984. The single bill paying period in July accommodates the end of the fiscal year bookkeeping process in the City Clerk/Auditor' s office . It was moved by Getty, seconded by Klinger that the clothing allowances be paid as soon as possible. Motion carried. Upon the advice of the City Attorney, it was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the purchase of a boat for the Fire Department by delayed until July 9 , 1984. Motion carried. It was moved by Klinger, seconded by Getty that the bills contained in Resolution No. 1984-280, approved by the City Council on June 26, 1984, be recommended for approval . Motion carried.
