HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/07/1983 FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES February 7, 1983 Mayor's Conference Room 6:30 p.m. The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 1983. Members present were: Dowie, Roehr, Wilharm, and Bowers. The relocation and addition of a defuser in the Police Support Services Division of the Police Department (basement of City Hall ) at an estimated cost of $500-$600 was reviewed. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers, that this expenditure be approved. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for body repair to the 1978 Chevette assigned to Health & Sanitation: Bidder Amount Wilbur Auto Body & Sales $247.48 Petersen & Co. $381.96 Morris Chev. Co. $372.96 It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to award the bid to Wilbur Auto Body and Sales in the amount of $247.48. Motion carried. Repair to the boiler in the City Hall Annex was reviewed by Heating Inspector Jim Boesen. The cost of repairs are estimated to be approximately $1,000.00. Money for the repairs will be from the Sign and Traffic or Electrical Department Budgets. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Roehr to authorize repair to the boiler. Motion carried. It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to authorize the Electrical Department to take bids on a 1983 truck. Motion carried. The Mayor reviewed potential uses of unused bond sale money including $65,000 for equipment purchases and $290,000 for street maintenance projects. He asked the council 's review and comment on the proposed location of future street projects. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Roehr to authorize the Sewer Department to take bids on sewer cleaning hose. Motion carried.
