Chairman Dowie in the Chair.
Members Present: Bowers , Roehr, Wilharm.
The following bids were reviewed for two (2) dump trucks for the Street Department:
BIDDER AMOUNT
George Morris No Bid
Crossroads Ford $52,200.00
Donovan International $52,272.00
The Garage Superintendent recommended that the bid of Donovan International be
accepted, as the low bid did not meet specifications. It was moved by Wilharm
seconded by Roehr to approve this recommendation. The motion was carried.
Bids were reviewed from Westinghouse Supply, Van Meter Company, Kies Electric,
and Crescent Electric for luminaires and lamps for the Electrical Department.
The recommendation of the Superintendent of Traffic Signals was to accept the
bid of Kies Electric Supply Company. Discussion was heard on the other bids
and whether they met specifications. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers
to approve the bid of Kies Electric Supply Company. The motion was carried .
Larry Cunningham, Garage Superintendent, reported that two (2) used trucks for
Water Pollution Control were being reviewed for possible use for sludge spreader.
On June 17, 1983, authorization was given to purchase a new truck. If a suitable
used one is found, the Finance Committee will approve the purchase price.
The request of the Waterloo Municipal Airport for issuance of General Obligation
Bonds in the amount of $145,000 and transfer of said money to their operating
budget until the bonds are sold. It was moved by Bowers, seconded by Wilharm
to approve the issuance of General Obligation Bonds in the amount of $145,000
for the Waterloo Municipal Airport with bills of the Airport Commission paid
by City of Waterloo funds in an amount not to exceed $145,000.00. The motion
was carried.
It was moved by Bowers , seconded by Wilharm to approve payment of the bills in
the folder. The motion was carried.
With no further business before the Committee the meeting was adjourned.
