The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo , Iowa met in the
Mayor ' s Conference Room in City Hall at 6 : 30 p .m. on Monday , July 19 ,
1982.
Present : Dowie , Bowers , Roehr , and Wilharm.
Bids were read for 3 radios for the Street Department .

RACOM $2 , 352. 00
18-Wheeler $1 , 680. 00
Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc . $1 , 515 . 00
Bob ' s 2-Way Radio Service $2 , 633 . 40
Moved by Bowers , seconded by Wilharm to refer the bids to the
Street Department .
Motion carried
Discussion followed on the removal of lights at Hwy . 20 and Evans
Road with concern on liability to the City if the lights were
removed.
Moved by Roehr , seconded by Wilharm, to refer the recommendation
to the City Attorney for review and if the decision was favorable
proceed to remove them.
Motion carried
Moved by Wilharm , seconded by Bowers to accept the report by the
Fire Department regarding taking bids for medical supplies by July
26 , 1982 .
Motion carried
Report submitted by Fire Department to accept the bid for Helmets
by Clarey ' s Safety Equipment , Inc. for $6 , 331 . 50.
Moved by Wilharm , seconded by Roehr to accept the report .
Motion carried.
Report submitted by Police Chief to send 8 Police Officers to
Hawkeye Institute of Technology for training school for a total
of $1 , 600. 00.
Motion carried .
Request from Waterloo Police Department to purchase 10 Patrol
Vehicles . Mr. Wilharm suggested that we wait for the arrival
of the new Police Chief before the Finance Committee makes a
decision .

the Police Department to accept bids on the 10 vehicles .
