The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in
City Hall at 6:30 P.M. on March 15, 1982.
Council Member Dowie presiding officer.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr
The recommendation of the Plan & Program Office on the taking of bids on three-hand-held
radio units and a 16mm projector were reviewed. It moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers,
to approve the purchase as recommended (immediate purchase of the radios and delay
purchase of 16mm projector until June, 1982). Motion carried.
Harold Getty, Chairman of the Public Works Committee, presented the Committee's
recommendation on the purchase of sewer equipment. Their recommendation was to purchase
the sewer cleaner from Herman M. Brown Co. (Vac-All ) in the amount of $73,900.00 and the
accompanying truck from Donovan International in the amount of $17,882.00. It was moved
by Burton, seconded by Wilharm to approve this recommendation. The motion carried.
The request of Postal Instant Press, 2755 University Avenue, for a garbage refund was
reviewed. He had been utilizing a private hauler, but was still being billed for city
pickup. It was moved by Wilharm, seconded by Bowers to approve a refund in the amount of
$23.10 to the above stated company. The motion carried.
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to approve payment of the following bills :
