The Finance Committee of the City of Waterloo, Iowa met in the Mayor's Conference Room in
City Hall at 6:30 P.M. on February 1 , 1982.
Council Member Dowie presiding officer.
On Roll Call : Dowie, Wilharm, Bowers, Roehr
The request of the Street Department for authorization to purchase one (1) henke snow
plow and one (1) henke v-plow was reviewed. It is a non-budgeted item. It would replace
an older model with the older model used as a backup. Don Thorson, Street
Superintendent, reported that he had received an informal bid from Sweeney Equipment
Company in the amount of $1,559.00. It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm to
approve this purchase. The motion carried.
The request of Larry Cunningham, Garage Superintendent, to purchase a packer blade in the
amount of $2,762.00 for a garbage truck was reviewed. He explained that repair of the
old unit was cost prohibitive. It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve this
purchase. The motion carried.
Fire Chief Olson requested authorization to take bids on 2,000 ft. of 1 3/4 inch fire
hose. It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to give authorization to take bids on
the above item. The motion carried.
It was moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers to approve payment of the following bills :
