RESOLUTION NO. 2022-551
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF WATERLOO,
IOWA APPROVING A DESTINATION IOWA GRANT
APPLICATION; DESIGNATING THE MAYOR AS THE
OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AFFIX HIS SIGNATURE TO
SAID APPLICATION AND CERTAIN ASSURANCES IN
CONJUNCTION WITH SAME.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to
avail itself of financial assistance through the Destination Iowa Program as administered by the
Iowa Economic Development Authority;
WHEREAS, the City is seeking assistance for the Cedar River Initiative Project;
WHEREAS, the Destination Iowa Grant application best addresses the needs of the City;
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo and the City of Cedar Falls are partnering on the grant
application and project;
WHEREAS, the application will only be submitted if both the City of Waterloo and
Cedar Falls approve of the application;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, as follows:
1. The Destination Iowa Grant application is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is hereby designated as the official representative of the City and is
further hereby directed and authorized to affix their signature to said application
and certain Federal and State assurances in conjunction with same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of August 2022.
