RESOLUTION NO. 2022-584
RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE NTIA MIDDLE MILE GRANT APPLICATION,
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,000,000.00 WITH
CITY MATCH, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITYWIDE
BROADBAND INITIATIVE, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Finance Department has requested permission to submit an application
for an Department of Commerce NTIA Middle Mile Grant, in the amount of $15,000,000.00, in
conjunction with the citywide broadband initiative, and
WHEREAS, The City of Waterloo will provide a local match of 50.156% for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the submission of the application for a Department of Commerce
NTIA Middle Mile Grant, in the amount of $15,000,000.00, with matching City funds of
50.156%, in conjunction with the citywide broadband initiative, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September 2022.
