RESOLUTION NO. 1982-548
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN
ALLEY TO VARSITY CLEANERS, INC. FOR $600.00 PLUS COSTS AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK/AUDITOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A
DEED FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of real property
in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described below, and
WHEREAS, an offer to purchase said alley for real property in the sum
of $600.00 plus costs, has been made by Varsity Cleaners, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on 13 December at 7:00 p.m. the
Council Chambers in City Hall , Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by law to sell
and convey premises owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to Varsity
Cleaners, Inc., Waterloo, Iowa, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and conveyance
should be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following described real property, as fully described in the
published notice in the Waterloo Courier on November 29, 1982, is not
presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable future for
municipal purposes and its ownership is serving no municipal purpose, and
2. The offer of Varsity Cleaners, Inc. to purchase real property for
the sum $600.00 and costs be, and it is hereby accepted for real property
described below:
Twenty (20) ft. alley right-of-way lying in Bik. 41, Orig. Plat,
West Waterloo, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
With the City's retention of an easement over, under & above the
above described property
3. That the Mayor and Clerk/Auditor are hereby authorized to execute
and deliver deeds to Varsity Cleaners, Inc.
4. That the Clerk/Auditor is authorized and directed to deliver said
deed of conveyance to Varsity Cleaners Inc. to upon receipt of the sum of
six hundred dollars ($600.00) and costs.
Passed and adopted this 13 day of December 1982.
