RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
LEASE AGREEMENT WITH NORTHWESTERN BELL
TELEPHONE COMPANY FOR PARKING LOT PURPOSES
AND PAYMENT TO SAID COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT
OF $6 ,000. 00 FOR PAST LEASE PAYMENTS .
WHEREAS , the City of Waterloo and Northwestern Bell
Telephone Company ( hereinafter called "company " ) entered into a
lease agreement in 1972 for a parking lot adjacent to the
"company " , and ,
WHEREAS , said lease arrangement authorized the payment of
yearly rental payments of $600. 00 per year to said "company" and
WHEREAS , lease payments have not been made to the "company"
and ,
WHEREAS , a sum of $6 ,000 . 00 is due and payable to the
"company " .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO that payment in the amount of $6 , 000 . 00 be made to the
"company" .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to execute an additional two-year rental lease with the
"company " at a rate of $600 . 00 per year.
