RESOLUTION NO. 2022-645
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO MIDWEST
CONCRETE OF PEOSTA, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$576,893.30, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
FY2023 SIDEWALK REPAIR ASSESSMENT PROGRAM,
CONTRACT NO. 1064, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete of Peosta, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$576,893.30, in conjunction with the FY2023 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program, Contract
No. 1064, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2022-644, after public hearing on October 17, 2022, in conjunction with the
FY2023 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program, Contract No. 1064.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Midwest Concrete in the amount of $576,893.30, in conjunction with
the FY2023 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program, Contract No. 1064, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Midwest Concrete, in
conjunction with the FY2023 Sidewalk Repair Assessment Program, Contract No. 1064,
are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of October 2022.
