RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH IOWA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
RECONSTRUCTION AND REALIGNMENT OF U.S.
HIGHWAY 63 FROM FRANKLIN STREET TO NEWELL
STREET, AND DIRECTING EXECUTION OF SAID
AGREEMENT BY MAYOR.
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation, in joint
cooperation with the City of Waterloo, proposes to establish or
make improvements to a primary highway; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, in partnership with the Iowa
Department of Transportation, is making improvements to the U.S.
Highway 63 Corridor; and
WHEREAS, this project is part of a series of improvements
under Project No. NHSX-63-6(75)-3H-07 along the U.S. Highway 63
corridor, extending from the U.S. 63 and 218 interchange to the
intersection of U.S. 63 and Donald Street; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa,
authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement
with the Iowa Department of Transportation for funding, with
City match in the amount of $920,000.00.
