RESOLUTION NO. 2022-707
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO WRH, INC., OF
SOUTH AMANA, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,637,320.00,
(BASE BID + BID ALTERNATE NO. 1 + BID ALTERNATE NO. 2),
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2023 SANITARY
SEWER GATEWELL REPAIRS PHASE II, CONTRACT NO. 1071,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, WRH, Inc., of South Amana, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$3,637,320.00, (Base Bid + Bid Alternate No. 1 + Bid Alternate No. 2), in conjunction with the
FY 2023 Sanitary Sewer Gatewell Repairs Phase II, Contract No. 1071, and is the apparent low
bidder, and
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2022-683, after public hearing on November 7, 2022, in conjunction with the FY
2023 Sanitary Sewer Gatewell Repairs Phase II, Contract No. 1071.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Midwest Concrete in the amount of $3,637,320.00, (Base Bid + Bid
Alternate No. 1 + Bid Alternate No. 2), in conjunction with the FY 2023 Sanitary Sewer
Gatewell Repairs Phase II, Contract No. 1071, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Midwest Concrete, in
conjunction with the FY 2023 Sanitary Sewer Gatewell Repairs Phase II, Contract No.
1071, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21 st day of November 2022.
