RESOLUTION NO. 2022-714
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING 1.49 ACRE PARCEL OF
FORMER SCHOOL PROPERTY AS PART OF SULENTIC
PARK.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa is the legal owner a 1.49 acre parcel, formerly
owned by the Waterloo School District, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, located within Sulentic
Park, and
WHEREAS, Leisure Services Commission voted unanimously at their November 9,
2022 meeting to recommend that the City Council formally dedicate said 1.49 acre parcel of
former school property, located within Sulentic Park, as park property, and
WHEREAS, surrounding neighbors have opposed residential development of the
property and support the formal park use designation.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
That the city -owned 1.49 acre parcel located within Sulentic Park, formerly owned by the
Waterloo School District, is hereby dedicated as Sulentic Park property.
