ADOPTED ON NOVEMBER 21, 2022 BY
THE WATERLOO CITY COUNCIL AS AN
ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 2021
UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE WITH
CERTAIN AMENDMENTS THERETO
AND AMENDING CHAPTER 4.
PLUMBING REGULATIONS, TITLE 9,
BUILDING REGULATIONS
This is a summary of the ordinance
adopting the 2021 Uniform Plumbing
Code, with certain amendments and
amending portions of Chapter 4, Plumb-
ing Regulations, Title 9, Building Regula-
tions:
The general purpose of this Ordinance is
as described above. The Ordinance
provides that a violation of the Uniform
Plumbing Code is a municipal infraction. It
prescribes a civil penalty fine in the
amount of $200 for a first offense and up
to 5400 for each subsequent offense. The
Ordinance amends the Uniform Plumbing
Code relating to Cross Connection
Control by adding certain provisions. The
Ordinance adds subsections relating to
backflow prevention measures. The Ordi-
nance repeals and replaces Table 604.1.
The Ordinance repeals and replaces
Section 1009 and subsections thereto
relating to Industrial Interceptors and
Seperators. The Ordinance also amends
the Code section 9-4C-5 of the City Code
relating to private building sewers.

Ordinance and not the complete text of

ted in its entirety at the office of the City
