RESOLUTION NO. 2023-021
RESOLUTION AWARDING BID TO KW ELECTRIC OF
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF $162,450.00, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE LOGAN AVENUE (US 63) FROM
DONALD STREET TO NEWELL STREET TRAFFIC
ADAPTIVE SYSTEM, IOWA DOT GRANT PROJECT NO.
ICAAP-SWAP-8155(781)--SH-07, APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, KW Electric of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$162,450.00, in conjunction with the Logan Avenue (US 63) from Donald Street to Newell
Street Traffic Adaptive System, Iowa DOT Grant Project No. ICAAP-SWAP-8155(781)--SH-07,
and is the apparent low bidder.
WHEREAS, KW Electric submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of insurance,
in conjunction with the Logan Avenue (US 63) from Donald Street to Newell Street Traffic
Adaptive System, Iowa DOT Grant Project No. ICAAP-SWAP-8155(781)--SH-07.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of KW Electric in the amount of $523,353.00, in conjunction with
the Logan Avenue (US 63) from Donald Street to Newell Street Traffic Adaptive System, Iowa
DOT Grant Project No. ICAAP-SWAP-8155(781)--SH-07, is hereby accepted and the bid is
hereby awarded to KW Electric.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by KW Electric, in
conjunction with the Logan Avenue (US 63) from Donald Street to Newell Street Traffic
Adaptive System, Iowa DOT Grant Project No. ICAAP-SWAP-8155(781)--SH-07, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of January 2023.
