HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-103-2 /15/2010RESOLUTION NO. 2010-103 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN DEEDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM PROPERTY ACQUISITION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had the parcels described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcels is in conjunction with the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Property Acquisition Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contracts for the parcels hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, all of which are situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, are accepted and approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate the agreements to purchase the property from the owners thereof, and the deeds for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the properties from City funds. The subiect addresses are: Owner - Sandra A. Schipper Address - 807 Riverside Drive Total Acquisition - $192,840.00 Lots Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Block No. 7 in Division "A", Cedar River Park, Waterloo, Iowa; and A part of Division "C" in Cedar River Park in Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows, to -wit: Commencing at the Northeast corner of Lot No. 1 in Block No. 7 in Division "A" in Cedar River Park, Waterloo, Iowa, thence running North along an extension of the East line of said Lot No. 1 to the line of the Cedar River as established by the River Front Improvement Commission; thence running Westerly along the line of the Cedar River to its intersection with an extension of the West line of Lot No. 4, in said Block No. 7; thence Southerly along the extension of the West line of said Lot No. 4 to the Northerly line of said Lot No. 4; thence Northeasterly and Easterly along the Northerly lines of Lots 4, 3, 2 and 1 in said Block No. 7 to place of beginning; and A part of Lot No. 5 in Block No. 7, in Division "A"; and a part of Division "C"; all in Cedar River Park, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, bounded and described as follows: Commencing at the most Northerly corner of said Lot No. 5; running thence South along the East line of said Lot a distance of 13.7 feet to a point that is 60.5 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Lot; thence at an angle to the right of 146 degrees to the Southeasterly line of the Resolution No. 2010-103 Page 2 and and Cedar River as established by the River Front Improvement Commission; thence Northeasterly along the Southeasterly line of the Cedar River as established by the River Front Improvement Commission to the point of its intersection with a Northerly extension of the East line of said Lot No. 5; thence Southerly along said Northerly extension of the East line of said Lot No. 5 to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa; Owner - Frank Aldrich Address - 501 Riverside Drive Total Acquisition - $114,960.00 Lot 4 in Block 4 in Division "A" and a tract of land adjoining said Lot 4 described as follows: Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of said Lot 4; thence Southerly along the West line of said Lot 4 to the Southwesterly corner of said Lot 4; thence West on a continuation of the South line of said Lot 4 to the boundary line along the Northeasterly Bank of the Cedar River established by the Boundary Commission appointed by the District Court of Black Hawk County, Iowa; thence Northwesterly along said boundary line to a point where the North line of said Lot 4, if extended in a Westerly direction, would intersect said boundary line; thence East to the place of beginning; and That part of vacated Riehl Street located West of the Westerly line of vacated Riverside Drive; All in Cedar River Park in the City of Waterloo, Iowa; Owner - Wendell R.
