(PROPOSED) RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR
F.Y. 1983 OILING PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 235, BEING A
RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
STREETS, AVENUES, DRIVES, ROADS, BOULEVARDS AND
ALLEYS, ETC. , OR PORTIONS THEREOF, HEREIN DESCRIBED,
BY OILING THE SAME IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
ON PETITIONS AND ON COUNCIL' S OWN MOTION, that it is deemed
necessary and advisable that the following streets, avenues ,
drives , roads , boulevards and alleys , etc. , or portions thereof,
be improved by oiling the same:
BOSTON AVENUE, from Dale Street to Donald Street, twenty-seven
feet wide (27 ' ) .
CALIFORNIA STREET, from Waterloo R.R. to Shultz Street, twenty-two
feet (22 ' ) .
EAST DALE STREET, from East Fourth Street to Mildred, twenty feet
wide (20 ' ) .
FOREST AVENUE, from West Eighth Street to West Ninth Street,
twenty-six feet wide (26 ' ) .
HAWVER COURT, from Ankeny Street to East Fourth Street, eighteen
feet wide (18 ' ) .
HOLLYWOOD AVENUE, from Movilla Street to Alice Street, twenty feet
wide (20 ' ) .
HOLLYWOOD AVENUE, from Bob Kennedy ' s Drive to South and West 400

The cost and expense of making said improvement will be
assessed as provided by law, as a special tax against all property
abutting upon the streets , avenues , drives , roads , boulevards , and
alleys so improved.
That said work shall be done by th Superintendent of the
Street Department of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, under the
direction of the City Engineer and the Public Works Committee of
the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and an accurate
itemized account of all the costs and expenses thereof shall be
kept and a report of the same made to this Council upon the
completion of said work.
That unless property owners at the time of the final
consideration of this resolution have on file with the City Clerk
written objections to the proposed improvements , they shall be
deemed to have waived all objections thereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing improvement of
said streets, avenues, drives, roads, boulevards, and alleys ,
etc. , by oiling, hereby proposed to be made and this resolution,
be, and the same are hereby, set down for further hearing,
consideration and determination and passage at a meeting of the
City Council to be held on the 7th day of June , 1982, at 7 P.M in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City and that the
City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause notice of the time and
place when this resolution will be considered for passage and
objections to the passage thereof and to the construction of said
improvements heard, to be given by publication in the Waterloo
Courier, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, in a manner and for the time provided by law.
Passed and adopted this 17th day of May, 1982.
