DEFENSE AND DISASTER SERVICE JOINT

WHEREAS, the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa, recognizes the
need to provide for mutual aid and assistance between Black Hawk
c County and the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and the other
municipalities in Black Hawk County in the event of natural
disaster, enemy attack, civil disturbance or other eme
rgency; and
WHEREAS, toward that end, there has been prepared a
County/Municipal Mutual Aid Agreement in accordance with Chapters
28E and 29C of the Code of Iowa ( 1987) as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Disaster Services Division of the Iowa
Department of Public Defense has recommended adoption of this
of Agreement, type
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said Agreement is a

RESOLUTION APPROVING BLACK HAWK COUNTY/MUNICIPAL MUTUAL
AID AGREEMENT WITH THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY/MUNICIPAL CIVIL
DEFENSE AND DISASTER SERVICE JOINT ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD
AND DIRECTING EXECUTION OF SAID AGREEMENT BY MAYOR.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa, recognizes the
need to provide for mutual aid and assistance between Black Hawk
County and the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and the other
municipalities in Black Hawk County in the event of natural
disaster, enemy attack, civil disturbance or other emergency; and
WHEREAS, toward that end, there has been prepared a
County/Municipal Mutual Aid Agreement in accordance with Chapters
28E and 29C of the Code of Iowa ( 1987 ) as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Disaster Services Division of the Iowa
Department of Public Defense has recommended adoption of this type
of Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said Agreement is approved, that the
City of Waterloo, Iowa desires to participate therein and that the
Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of January, 1989 .
