RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF THE BUILDING MORATORIUM
ON RELOCATED HIGHWAY 218 CORRIDOR FOR BAROID INDUSTRIES
(VAUGHN STREET AND WESTFIELD AVENUE) .
WHEREAS, Baroid Industries of Houston, Texas has requested a
waiver of the building moratorium on Relocated Highway 218
Corridor to construct a Bentonite Mixing facility in the rear of
Dawson Foundry at the intersection of Vaughn Street and Westfield
Avenue, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 22nd day of May,
1989, at 7: 00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa,
as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
on the request to approve the above mentioned request, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said waiver
of moratorium on Relocated Highway 218 Corridor be approved as
requested.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the waiver to the moratorium on Relocated
Highway 218 Corridor, as requested by Baroid Industries, located
at the rear of Dawson Foundry at the intersection of Vaughn Street
and Westfield Avenue be and the same is hereby approved, together
with a detailed landscaping plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 1989.
