O n i - RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A PRE-APPLICATION
s TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FEDERAL
H AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE
• E-+ s WATERLOO AIRPORT.

rF-. WHEREAS, the Waterloo Airport is considering substantial
improvements to its operations; and
WHEREAS, funding assistance is available to airports through
the Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation
Administration to provide 90 percent financial assistance for
airport improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Airport is desirous to make the
following improvements:
o s -1 1 . VASI Relocation of Runway 18.< cc
w o 2. Installation of two (2) security gates.

3 . Evaluation and design of Runway 12-30 and the airline
N ramp area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
• CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the Airport Director be directed and
authorized to submit a pre-application for Federal Administration
H Funds to the Department of Transportation for 90 percent
financial assistance for said airport improvements.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of August, 1989.
