RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE REPAIR OF ADDITIONAL
SIDEWALKS AND/OR PORTIONS THEREOF IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, UNDER THE FY 1990 SIDEWALK REPAIR
ASSESSMENT PROGRAM -- ZONE 1, CONTRACT NO. 382.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, that after public hearing on September 5 , 1989 , notice
having been given as required by law, it is deemed necessary
and advisable that the sidewalks and/or portions of
sidewalks for an area bounded by North City Limits - Highway
63 - Conger - Broadway - Park Road - Cedar River - West City
Limits - North City Limits, be improved by repairing the
same.
The repair of said improvement will be the
responsibility of the owner of property abutting the
sidewalk so designated by the City Engineer as needing
repair.
Said work shall be completed by the owner of the
property abutting said improvement by November 3 , 1989, with
evidence of a contract to have the work completed by a
bonded contractor, together with a 25% down payment. The
City of Waterloo will contract any work not completed by the
property owner, and an accurate and itemized account of all
the costs and expenses thereof shall be made to this Council
upon completion of said work. The cost and expense to the
City of Waterloo for making said improvement will be
assessed, as provided by law, as a special tax against all
property abutting sidewalks and/or portions thereof so
improved.
