RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO REGARDING THE ENACTMENT OF A ONE
• CENT LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX TO BE DEVOTED IN ITS
ENTIRETY TO THE REPAIR, CONSTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION

WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo supports the petition drive
currently being conducted in the Metro Area to obtain the
required signatures to bring to referendum a one cent sales tax;
and
WHEREAS, if the required signatures are obtained, the City
of Waterloo supports the concept to use such tax proceeds
entirely for street repair, construction and reconstruction
within the City Limits of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that it recommends and endorses the
concept of the enactment of a one cent local option sales tax
within the City of Waterloo, Iowa, the proceeds of which are to
be used entirely for the repair, construction and reconstruction
of streets within the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
ADOPTED this llth day of September, 1989 .
