HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-531-09.25.1989 RESOLUTION NO. 1989-531 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY PLANNER TO PROCEED WITH STAGE I OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL REMOVAL PROCESS AT INTERSECTION OF WEST THIRD STREET AND LOCUST STREET. WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Traffic Operation and Signal Study (MATOSS) suggests the removal of unwarranted traffic signals, and WHEREAS, the intersection of West Third Street and Locust Street may not warrant a traffic signal, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said removal should be considered, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that the City Planner be and the same hereby instructed to proceed with Stage I of the Traffic Removal Process at the intersection of West Third Street and Locust Street which includes : 1 . Determine adequate sight distance; 2 . Warrant analysis; 3 . Post signs asking for public comments regarding proposed removal of the signals; and 4 . Uncover accident history for the above referenced signals. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of September, 1989 , and approved by the Mayor this 27th day of September, 1989 . Bernard L.
