RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF THE BUILDING MORATORIUM
ON RELOCATED HIGHWAY 218 CORRIDOR FOR SUPER 8 , 1825
LAPORTE ROAD, IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA.
WHEREAS, Super 8, has requested a waiver of the building
moratorium on Relocated Highway 218 Corridor to landscape
property located at 1825 LaPorte Road, legally described as
follows:
Unplatted Waterloo West. Part of the NE Fractional
one-quarter ( 1/4 ) Section 2 T 88 R 13 commencing at NE
corner of said Section 2; thence S 316 ' along E line of said
NE Fractional one-quarter( 1/4) ; thence W parallel N line
said Section 650. 5' to the point of beginning; thence
continue W parallel N line said section a distance of
519. 7 ' ; thence S 35 degrees 54 1/2 minutes E 239. 9 ' ; thence
S 88 degrees 50 minutes E 205. 1' ; thence N 48 degrees 24 1/2
minutes E 180. 1 ' ; thence N 24 degrees 52 1/2 minutes E 93 .2'
to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on November 6 , 1989, at
7 : 00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa, as
provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on
the request to approve the above mentioned request; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said waiver
of building moratorium on Relocated Highway 218 Corridor be
approved, as requested subject to the following: 1) no gravel
parking, the area currently used for truck parking must be
sodded; 2 ) the detention area must be sodded; and 3 ) a
maintenance agreement must be signed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the waiver to the building
moratorium on Relocated Highway 218 Corridor, for
Super 8, to landscape property located at 1825 LaPorte Road, be
and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is authorized and
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Black Hawk
County Recorder for recording in order that this said action may
become a matter of official County Record.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of November, 1989.
