RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF THE BUILDING
MORATORIUM ON RELOCATED HIGHWAY 218 CORRIDOR FOR
ROCK ISLAND MILL WORKS, 2125 WESTFIELD AVENUE,
IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA.
WHEREAS, Rock Island Mill Works, has requested a waiver
of the building moratorium on Relocated Higway 218 Corridor
to construct an addition to existing building, and;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on December 4, 1989,
at 7 :00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo,
Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, on the request to approve the above
mentioned request, legally described as follows:
Unplatted Waterloo West a Parcel of Land in the S 1/2
NW 1/4 Sec. 22 T 89 R 13 Comm. at a pt. perpendicular
to & 40 Ft. NE of a pt. on the Nely. Line of Row of C R
I & P RR which is 1348.7 Ft. NWLY from Inters. of Row
with E Line of W 1/2 of said Sec. Th. NWLY Par. with RR
200 Ft. Th. NELY at Rt. Ang. 575 Ft. Th. Due E to a Pt.
30 Ft. Wly from Centerline of W C F & N RR Th. S & SWLY
Par. to W C F & N RR Main Line to Pt. of Beg. , all in
the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said
waiver of building moratorium on Relocated Highway 218
Corridor be approved, as requested, subject to the
following:
( 1) That the proposed treatment of the southwest side
be continued to the southeast side of the
building;
( 2) That landscaping be provided in the front yard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the waiver to the building
moratorium on Relocated Highway 218 Corridor, for Rock
Island Mill Works, to construct an addition to existing
building, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is
authorized and directed to forward a copy of this resolution
to the Black Hawk County Recorder for recording in order
that this said action may become a matter of official County
Record.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 1989.
