RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF
CITY-OWNED LAND TO IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR NO COST AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED
FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of
real `property in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described
below, and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation needs
certain parcel of real property for Relocated U.S. 218
right-of-way, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale
and conveyance should be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE- CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows:
1 . That the offer of Iowa Department of Transportation
to purchase real property for no cost be, and it is hereby
accepted for property described below:
The SWerly 50 ' in even width of the vacated CRI&P
Railway lying NEerly of and adj . to Main St. from the W
line of Fletcher Ave. (formerly Cleveland Street) to
the south line of Lot 27 Hostetler' s Add. extended
easterly, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa.
2. That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel
of real property to Iowa Department of Transportation by
Quit Claim Deed.
3 . That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute and deliver a deed to Iowa Department of
Transportation.
4. That the original of said deed fully executed and
acknowledged is hereby approved and confirmed by the
Council.
5. That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to
deliver said deed of conveyance to Iowa Department of
Transportation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 1989.
