HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-662-12.11.1989 RESOLUTION NO. 1989-662 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF HOUSES LOCATED AT 3922 SAGER AVENUE, 3930 SAGER AVENUE, 4050 SAGER AVENUE AND 823 KIMBALL AVENUE AND GARAGE STRUCTURES LOCATED AT 3922 SAGER AVENUE AND 3930 SAGER AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING STAFF TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER BILLS OF SALE FOR SAME. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is the owner of houses located at 3922 Sager Avenue, 3930 Sager Avenue, 4050 Sager Avenue and 823 Kimball Avenue and garage structures located at 3922 Sager Avenue and 3930 Sager Avenue, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa; and WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, intends to sell and convey said structures and cause them to be removed from the site in accordance with the guidelines and stipulations set forth in the bid proposal form; and WHEREAS, offers to purchase in compliance with said guidelines and stipulations have been made by the bidders below; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on December 11, 1989, at 7: 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to accept bids for said structures owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to the successful bidder below; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and conveyance be made as proposed. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: 1 . The following described structures as described in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on November 29, 1989 , are not presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable future for Municipal purposes and their ownership is serving no municipal purpose; and 2. That the offer of Steven L. Rieger to purchase the house located at 3922 Sager Avenue for the sum of $9,100. 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the house described below: Cedarloo Park, Lot W-39 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo. 3 . That the offer of Stephen A. Clabby to purchase the house located at 3930 Sager Avenue for the sum of $4,789. 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the house described below: Cedarloo Park, Lot W-40 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo. 4. That the offer of Irving J. and Vickie S. Thome to purchase the house located at 4050 Sager Avenue for the sum of $10,500. 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the house Resolution No. 1989-662 Page 2 described below: Cedarloo Park, Lot W-48 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo. 5. That the offer of Best Yet, Inc. to purchase the house located at 823 Kimball Avenue for the sum of $1, 550. 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the house described below: Brown-Hall Addition, Lot 12 of Block 1 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. 6. That the offer of Steven L. Rieger to purchase the garage located at 3922 Sager Avenue for the sum of $151. 00 be, and : it is hereby accepted for the garage described below: 71 4 • M Cedarloo Park, Lot W-39 in Black Hawk County, s w Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. 7. That no bid was received for the garage located at `3930 Sager Avenue, described as follows: rl o ' r Cedarloo Park, Lot W-40 of Black Hawk County, 03 Iowa, now in the City of Waterloo, Iowa. 8. That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said structures by Bill of Sale. 9. That the Planning, Programming & Zoning staff is authorized and directed to deliver said Bills of Sale to said purchasers upon receipt of the full sum of their bids.
