HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-697-12.26.12990 RESOLUTION NO. 1990-697 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN DEEDS. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had all the parcels described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcels are necessary to carry out the Broadway/Conger Traffic Improvement Project, Contract No. 394. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contract for the parcels hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, all of which are situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, are accepted and approved and the Mayor and Deputy City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate the agreement to purchase the properties from the owners thereof, and the deeds for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the properties and the incidental expenses necessary to the consummation of the sales from City funds. The subject parcels are: Parcel No. 1 Broadway Bldg. Co. , 710 Broadway St. Partial Acquisition - $280. 00 That part of Lot 1 , Block 3 , Ricker and Bratnober Land Company Addition to Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Lot 1; thence North Fifteen ( 15) feet along the West line of said Lot; thence Southeasterly to a point on the South line of said Lot which is Fifteen ( 15 ) feet East of the Southwest corner of said Lot; thence West Fifteen ( 15 ) feet to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Take Area = 112 S.F. Parcel No. 2 Darlene Escareno, 624 Broadway St. Total Acquisition - $60 , 500 .00 Lot 6, Block 6, Ricker and Bratnober Land Company Addition to Waterloo, Iowa, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Take Area = 6, 365 S.F. Parcel No. 3 Alva Rokes, 623 Broadway St. Partial Acquisition - $280 . 00 That part of Lot 10, Block 5, Ricker and Bratnober Land Company Addition to Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot 10; thence West fifteen ( 15 ) feet along the North line of said Lot; thence Southeasterly to a point on the East line of said Lot which is Fifteen ( 15) feet South of the Northeast corner of said Lot; thence North Fifteen ( 15 ) feet to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Partnership, 510 Conger St. Partial Acquisition - $1 , 000. 00 That part of Lot 15, Block 4 , Ricker and Bratnober Land Company Addition to Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Lot 15; thence Q) North Fifteen ( 15 ) feet along the East line of said Lot; Q) thence Southwesterly to a point on the South line of said 7 Lot which is Fifteen ( 15) feet West of the Southeast corner of said Lot; thence East Fifteen ( 15) feet to the point of (1) beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
