RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF
HOUSES LOCATED AT 626 WELLINGTON STREET, 3912
SAGER AVENUE, 1030 PROGRESS AVENUE, 1215 SOUTH
HACKETT ROAD, 1018 JANNEY AVENUE AND 1023
ANSBOROUGH AVENUE, DUPLEX LOCATED AT 1027-1029
PROGRESS AVENUE, FOUR-PLEX LOCATED AT 618
WELLINGTON COURT, AND GARAGES LOCATED 408 BAYARD
STREET, 3912 SAGER AVENUE, 1030 PROGRESS AVENUE,
AND AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING, PROGRAMMING AND
ZONING STAFF TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER BILLS OF SALE
FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of
houses located at 626 Wellington Street, 3912 Sager Avenue,
1030 Progress Avenue, 1215 South Hackett Road, 1018 Janney
Avenue, 1023 Ansborough Avenue, duplex located at 1027-1029
Progress Avenue, four-plex located at 618 Wellington Court,
and garages located at 408 Bayard Street, 3912 Sager Avenue,
1030 Progress Avenue, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, intends to sell
and convey said structures and cause them to be removed from
the site in accordance with the guidelines and stipulations
set forth in the bid proposal form; and
WHEREAS, offers to purchase in compliance with said
guidelines and stipulations have been made by the bidders
indicated below; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 20, 1990,
at 7 : 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo,
Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to accept bids for said structures and to
sell and convey said structures owned by the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to the successful bidders below; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale
and conveyance be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows:
1. The following described structures as described in
the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on August 1,
1990 and August 6, 1990, are not presently needed and will
not be needed in the foreseeable future for municipal
purposes and their ownership is serving no municipal
purpose; and
2 . That no bid was received for the house located at
626 Wellington Street, described below:
3 bedroom, 1 1/2 story colonial style, wood frame
house.
3 . That the offer of Francis Dilley to purchase the
house located at 3912 Sager Avenue for the sum of $2, 500. 00
be, and it is hereby accepted for the house described below:
2 bedroom ranch style, wood frame house.
4. That the offer of Melinda Vauthier to purchase the
house located at 1030 Progress Avenue for the sum of

$4, 310 . 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the house
described below:
2 bedroom ranch style, wood frame house.
5 . That the offer of Larry and Barbara Wandro to
purchase the house located at 1215 South Hackett Road for
the sum of $8, 501. 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the
house described below:
3 bedroom, ranch style, wood frame house and property
legally described as follows:
All that part of Lot 33 and Lot 34, Bel Air Heights,
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the South line of said Lot 34,
which point is 5. 00 feet East of the Southwest corner
of said Lot 34; thence Northeasterly to a point on the
North line of said Lot 34, which point is 25. 00 feet
East of the Northwest corner of said Lot 34; thence
northeasterly to a point on the northerly line of said
Lot 33 , which point is 16. 50 feet (ARC Distance)
Northwesterly of the Northeast corner of said Lot 33;
thence Southeasterly along the North line of said Lot
33 to the Northeast corner of said Lot 33 ; thence
Southwesterly to the Southeast corner of said Lot 33 ;
thence Easterly to the Northeast corner of said Lot 34;
thence Southerly to the Southeast corner of said Lot
34; thence Westerly to the point of beginning, all in
the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
Contains approximately 11, 389 .75 S.F.
6 . That the offer of Lois Reiger to purchase the
duplex located at 1027-1029 Progress Avenue for the sum of
$10,660 . 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the duplex
described below:
2 bedrooms each unit, ranch style wood frame.
7 . That the offer of Herman Ray Hulce to purchase the
four-plex apartment, required to be moved out of Waterloo,
located at 618 Wellington Court for the sum of $110 .00 be,
and it is hereby accepted for the four-plex apartment
described below:
2 story four plex, wood frame. Cannot be relocated
within City limits .
8. That the offer of Bill Farly to purchase the
garage located at 408 Bayard Street for the sum of $251 .00
be, and it is hereby accepted for the garage described
below:
20' x 22 ' wood frame garage.
9. That the offer of Otis Gaston to purchase the
garage located at 3912 Sager Avenue for the sum of $650. 00
be, and it is hereby accepted for the garage described
below:
24 ' x 24 ' wood frame garage with attached 12 ' x 16 '
single garage.
10. That the offer of John Eveland to purchase the
garage located at 1030 Progress Avenue for the sum of
