HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-415-07.02.1990 RESOLUTION NO. 1990-415 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN DEEDS. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had all the parcels described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcels is necessary to carry out the Sixth Street Extension Project, IX-6604( 2 ) --79-07 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contract for the parcels hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, all of which are situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, are accepted and approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate the agreement to purchase the properties from the owners thereof, and the deeds for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the properties and the incidental expenses necessary to the consummation of the sales from City funds. The subject parcels are: Parcel 102 King Leigh T. & Helen G. Dean, 102 Kingsley Avenue Partial Acquisition - $100 . 00 All that part of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section No. 26, Township No. 89 North, Range No. 13 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the north line of Kingsley Avenue with the west line of Sullivan Street; thence west 5 . 0 feet along the north line of Kingsley Avenue; thence northeast to a point on the west line of Sullivan Street, which point is 5 . 0 north of the point of intersection of the north line of Kingsley Avenue with the west line of Sullivan Street; thence south to the point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Containing approximately 12 . 5 square feet. Parcel 1405 WFIF Donald E. & Elizabeth R. Krause, 1405 W. 5th Street Temporary Acquisition - $100.00 Part of Block 1 in Leavitt' s, Johnson and Miller' s Addition to Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the most northerly corner of said Block 1; thence south along the east line of said Block 1 a distance of 10 feet; thence northwesterly to a point on the northwesterly line of said Block 1 which is 10 feet southwesterly of the most northerly corner of said Block 1; thence northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said Block 1 a distance of 10 feet to the point of beginning, all in the city of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. This parcel contains 40 square feet. Resolution No. 1990-415 Page 2 Parcel 1600 WFOR Esther Sandelman, Trustee (d/b/a KIN Properties) , 1600 W. 4th Street Temporary Acquisition - $650. 00 The southeasterly 15 feet in even width of Lots 4, 5 and 6 in Powers ' Addition to the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. !Containing approximately 2 ,700 square feet, with authorization to compensate for light poles and signs, if necessary, in the amount of $2,700. 00.
