HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-267-05.07.1990 RESOLUTION NO. 1990 -267 (PROPOSED) RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR FY 1991 OILING PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 391, BEING A RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS OF STREETS, AVENUES, DRIVES, ROADS, BOULEVARDS AND ALLEYS, ETC. , OR PORTIONS THEREOF HEREIN DESCRIBED BY OILING THE SAME IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, ON PETITIONS AND ON COUNCIL' S OWN MOTION, that it is deemed necessary and advisable that the following streets, avenues, drives, roads, boulevards and alleys, etc. , or portions thereof , be improved by oiling the same: Shultz Street from W PL of 1401 Shultz Street to E PL of 1620 Shultz Street Hollywood Avenue from Movilla Street to Alice Avenue Forest Avenue from 8th Street West to 9th Street West Brees Street from RR tracks West of Ashland Avenue to Grandview Forest Avenue from llth Street West to Oregon Street Hewitt Street from Adams Street to Newell Street Sheffield Avenue from Mitchell Avenue to Easton Avenue Sheffield Avenue from Easton Avenue to S PL 1309 Sheffield Alley bounded by Lawnhill Avenue, Kingsley Avenue, Euclid Avenue, and Campbell Avenue Alley bounded by Western Avenue, Mullan Avenue West, Locust Street, and Elmwood Avenue Alley bounded by Logan Avenue, Parker Street, Arlington Street West, and Cutler Street Alley bounded by Avon Avenue, Riehl Street, Ashland Avenue, and Conger Street Alley bounded by Randolph Street, Leavitt Street, 9th Street West and Grant Avenue The cost and expense of making said improvement will be assessed as provided by law, as a special tax against all property abutting upon the streets, avenues, drives , roads, boulevards and alleys so improved. That said work shall be done by the Superintendent of Street Department of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, under the direction of the City Engineer and the Public Works Committee of the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and an accurate itemized account of all the costs and expenses thereof shall be kept and a report of the same made to this Council upon the completion of said work. That unless property owners at the time of the final consideration of this resolution have on file with the City Clerk written objections on the proposed improvements they shall be deemed to have waived all objections thereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing improvement of said streets, avenues, drives, roads, boulevards and alleys, etc. , by oiling, hereby proposed to be made and this resolution, be, and the same are hereby, set down for further hearing, consideration and determination and passage at a meeting of the City Council to be held on the 29th day of May, 1990, at 7 : 00 p.m. , in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City and that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause notice of the time and place when this resolution will be considered for passage and objections to the passage thereof and to the construction of said improvements heard, to be given by publication in the Waterloo Courier, a newspaper of general Resolution No. 19 0-267 Page 2 circulation published in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in a manner and for the time provided by law.
