SECOND STREET AND LOCUST STREET.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Traffic Operation and
Signal Study (MATOSS) suggests the removal of unwarranted
traffic signals, and
WHEREAS, the intersection of West Second Street and
I Locust Street may not warrant a traffic signal, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said
removal should be considered, and
H WHEREAS, this Council did authorize the Transportation

Second Street and Locust Street.
to NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, that the Transportation Program
Manager be and the same hereby instructed to proceed with
Stage II of the Traffic Removal Process at the intersection
of West Second Street and Locust Street which includes:
1. Predicted changes in accident rate;
2. Compute impacts;
3 . Compare cost of stop sign removal versus
continuing stop sign maintenance;
4. Determine what type of control is required at
this intersection; and
5 . Hold public hearing to remove stop sign.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of April, 1990 , and
approved by the Mayor this 25th day of April, 1990.
