RESOLUTION DESIGNATING STREET NAMES FOR ROADWAYS
CONNECTED TO RELOCATED U.S. 218 FOR LOCATION
IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES, IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA.
WHEREAS, Relocated U.S. 218 will be on a new alignment
west of Mullan Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said alignment has created a need for roadways
connected to the Relocated U.S. 218 project to have a street
name designation for location identification purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA that the following street name
designations for location identification purposes for
roadways connected to Relocated U.S. 218, be and the same
hereby approved.
1. West Washington Street will be the city street
name given to U.S. 218 when it enters Waterloo
from the west. West Washington Street will
continue east and southeasterly to West Mullan
Avenue. Beyond West Mullan Avenue, U.S. 218 is on
Washington Street to the southerly city limit
line.
2 . Broadway, westbound, will be designated as the
one-way westbound roadway. This one-way westbound
roadway will allow westbound Broadway traffic to
exit Broadway and go to the airport, and for
traffic coming from the airport to go west onto
U.S. 218.
3 . Broadway, eastbound, will begin at the point where
U.S. 218 traffic goes to the ramp and bridge over
Broadway.
4. Airport Boulevard will be extended south of
Broadway to the point where it meets southbound
U.S. 218. /
