a OF THE ARMY AND THE CITY OF WATERLOO FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGES OVER BLOWERS CREEK.

,-1 ( WHEREAS, THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA has asked the U. S.
Q.) Department of the Army for assistance in replacing bridges

n over Blowers Creek at Dubuque Road and Lafayette Street; and

w ,- -t-L7! - WHEREAS, construction of the bridges over Blowers Creek
Ewas authorized by Public Law 89-298 , which authorized a
Lflood protection project at Waterloo, Iowa, and was modified
by the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 (Public Law
99-662) , to authorize Federal participation in the
construction of bridges over Blowers Creek at Dubuque Road
and Lafayette Street; and

WHEREAS, Section 835 of the Water Resources Development
Act of 1986, Public Law 99-662, as amended, specifies the
cost sharing requirements applicable to the Project; and
' WHEREAS, the City has the authority and capacity to

' furnish the cooperation and is willing to participate in
cost-sharing and financing in accordance with the terms of
the attached agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor is
authorized to execute the Local Cooperation Agreement
between the Department of the Army and the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, including the Finance Plan for the project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of February, 1990 .
